On Tuesday our Year 3 New Age Kurling squad headed to Garforth Academy to take part in the Garforth Schools competition. It was a proud day for many of the squad who were representing GLPA for the first time. The team performed exceptionally well and showed improvement in each match. As their confidence grew so too did the outcomes of their matches and it was tremendous to discover once the scores had been added up that we were crowned Garforth Schools champions! Really well done to the squad for a wonderful achievement – the first time we have ever won this particular competition!

I was very proud at the end of the tournament to have two members of staff from two separate Garforth schools come up to me and share how impressed they were by the excellent manners, behaviour and sporting spirit our children demonstrated throughout the competition. You can’t get a better compliment than that!
