The School Games mark is a government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels. The award is nationally recognised as the kite mark for school sport.
We are thrilled to announce that as a school we have now achieved Gold level award which is an incredible achievement. To achieve the award, a school has to demonstrate excellence in participation, supporting talented athletes, competition, leadership, inclusion and community links; all within a P.E and school sport setting. GLPA can now 'proudly demonstrate their outstanding commitment to school sport' (Youth Sport Trust).
A massive thank you to all staff everyone who have helped support sport and P.E over the last few years to get us to this very exciting moment.
