Girls' football

Last Friday, eleven girls from Year 4 had the amazing opportunity to visit Football World. This day was led by Mr Wales and targetted girls from the Garforth area who wanted to have their first go at girls football. The day began with two training sessions, one based around controlling the ball and one session full of fun games allowing the girls to apply their new found skills. After lunch we entered a tournament, where we played six short games. The girls played some fantastic football and improved as the tournament progressed. Although we lost the first three games, we soon found our stride and became unbeatable in our final three, drawing one and winning two. Unfortunately we did not win the tournament overall nevertheless our girls really enjoyed the chance to represent Green Lane and compete against other girls with a passion for football. Well done girls for all your enthusiasm, determination and amazing sportsmanship.
