A number of children at Green Lane have taken part in the Virgin Money mini-London Marathon in Schools. To win a special London marathon badge and certificate children had to run, walk or jog 2.6 miles between 27th September and 22nd October. The distance of 2.6 miles was equivalent to 23 laps of the red line on the KS2 playground which children gradually completed over a few weeks. Some did this in P.E lessons or the Daily Mile and really enjoyed the challenge! Many children had a lap tick sheet which their teacher ticked off each time they completed a lap. Badges will be arriving at some point in November and we look forward to presenting them to the children who managed to complete the required distance!

A big well done to those who ran the mini-London marathon!
Here is what some children said:

Seth M – “I really enjoyed it because it’s good exercise for you and you get fresh air as well when you’ve worked all day!”

Emily L – “I liked it but it was tiring!”

Seth C – “It gave me energy!”
