  • Y6 Residential September 2017

    The Year 6 team had a fabulous time at Kingswood, Dearne Valley last week.  Visiting so soon in the school year gave us all a chance to get to know each other and we were so proud of the way in which the children pushed themselves by: trying new activities; overcoming personal challenges and developing their teamwork skills.  Thanks to: Mrs Palin, Mrs Martin, Mrs Hector, Mrs Sterland, Mrs Coles and Mr Buckley who gave up their free time and looked after the children so well on their adventure.  What a great

  • Roald Dahl Day Y4

    15th September 2017

    On the 13th September, Y4 celebrated Roald Dahl day. Hazel class invented some new ‘Delumptiouschocolate bars, including the scrumptious Cake Bomb and the tantalising Sweet Tweet, whilst in Chestnut class, new characters were created, including the Vomit Comet and the Colossal Pea.

    We also explored some exciting maths, helping Willy Wonka decide how many wrappers he might need for his new chocolate bars.

  • Welcome Back to School

    5th September 2017

    The academy opened after the summer holidays to children on Tuesday 5th September.

    The children and staff are excited about the new year and all of the exciting learning planned.

    The first newsletter goes out on Friday 8th September.  Be sure to read your copy to hear about the current events and activities to get the school year off to a great start!

  • Year 4 Residential to Hartington Hall

    30th April 2016

    Year 4 children took their first school residential from 27th-29th April.  They stayed at Hartington Hall and had many exciting adventures including becoming Tudors for the day, hiking in the woods and fields and exploring Hartington Village.  They were able to try out skills they had already learned and learn new skills along the way.  It was wonderful to see the growing independence the children showed.  Our video is just a small taste of the adventures had!

  • World Book Day 2016

    On Thursday 3rd March, GLPA celebrated World Book Day.

    Each class selected a book to feature in their classes for the day.  Children participated in a variety of activities featuring the story including reading, writing, maths, making potions, recreating scenes, art, PE and MORE!
